On Saturday, 30th July 2022, from Barclays Center in Brooklyn in a Premier Boxing Champions event, top middleweight contender Sergiy Derevyanchenko will square off against Joshua Conley in a 10-round contest, while exciting up-and-coming prospect Vito Mielnicki Jr. faces Jimmy Williams in an eight-round welterweight contest.

The main event features three Showtime Championship Boxing fights, including the super welterweight debut of Brooklyn fan favorite and two-division world champion Danny “Swift” Garcia versus promising challenger Jose Benavidez Jr.

The 10-round heavyweight fight between Turkish Olympian Ali Eren Demirezen and Polish star and Brooklyn’s all-action Adam Kownacki will start the tripleheader. Unbeaten rising star Gary Antuanne Russell will face former two-division champion Rances Barthelemy to open the telecast.

The undercard fight card also includes a rematch between unbeaten Brooklyn native Junior Younan (16-0-1, 10 KOs) and former unified super welterweight champion Julian “J-Rock” Williams (27-3-1, 16 KOs), who will fight in a 10-round middleweight bout.

Atif Oberlton (5-0, 5 KOs), a highly touted Philadelphia native, will fight in a six-round light heavyweight bout.

Unbeaten welterweight Leshawn Rodriguez (13-0, 10 KOs) will face fellow unbeaten fighter and Bronx native Ismael Villarreal (11-0, 7 KOs) in an eight-round fight.

Also on the card are super featherweight Ricky Lopez (21-5-1, 6 KOs), unbeaten prospect Breeon Carothers (2-0, 2 KOs) in a four-round lightweight fight, and unbeaten super bantamweight prospect Miguel Roman (1- 0).

Derevyanchenko (13-4, 10 KOs), an Olympian for his home Ukraine in 2008, will look for another shot at the middleweight world championship. Derevyanchenko, also known as “The Technician,” is now based in Brooklyn and is a well-known top middleweight contender who has fought people like Jermall Charlo, Daniel Jacobsand Gennady Golovkin.

He has triumphed against opponents like Sam Soliman, Jack Culcay, and Tureano Johnson. Carlos Adames defeated him by majority vote in his most recent contest, which occurred in December.

Fighting out of San Bernardino, California, Conley (17-3-1, 11 KOs) has challenged fighters like Carlos Adames and Julian Williams while competing at 154 and 160 pounds since 2011. His career began in 2011. Before the 30th of July, the 30-year-old had won three straight fights, most recently defeating seasoned power puncher Curtis Stevens by unanimous decision in March.

The 20-year-old Mielnicki (11-1, 7 KOs) earned a commanding unanimous decision over Dan Karpency in April to make it three victories in a row. On 30th July, the well-known Roseland, New Jersey native will make his Barclays Center debut and head back to the region.

Before going pro, Mielnicki had a stellar amateur career in which he had a 147-22 record and won numerous honors, including the Most Outstanding Boxer of the 2011 Junior National Golden Gloves.

Williams (18-8-2, 6 KOs), who fights out of New Haven, Connecticut, will make a return appearance at Barclays Center after losing a decision to Luis Arias in May.

The 35-year-old has won against previous Mielnicki opponent Nicholas DeLomba as well as former world champion Yuri Foreman. Williams’ career began in 2013, and since then, he has taken on renowned opponents including Abel Ramos and Brandun Lee.
