FRENCH LICK, Ind. – The Fighting Illini men’s golf team, ranked No. 17 in the latest Golfweek team ratings and No. 19 by Golfstat, tees off this weekend at The Pete Dye Course at French Lick for the 2022 Big Ten Men’s Golf Championship.

The 2022 Big Ten Men’s Golf Championship is hosted at The Pete Dye Course at French Lick Resort in French Lick, Ind. The course, famously sketched on a napkin by Hall of Fame architect and namesake Pete Dye, opened in 2009.
This championship golf course on one of Indiana’s highest elevation points has narrow, immaculate fairways and rugged, intense terrain. The Pete Dye Course has gained national acclaim for its 40-mile panoramic views of the southern Indiana countryside, three man-made lakes, “volcano” bunkers and a variety of elevation changes. A robust 8,100 yards from the professional tees punctuate Dye’s signature sting from vista to vista. The Big Ten Championship layout will feature a Par-72, 7,033-yard track.
Among the various championships hosted by The Pete Dye Course at French Lick, is the 2010 PGA Professional National Championship, the record-tying third for Illini head coach mike small. The facility has also hosted: Big Ten Golf Championships (2012-14), Alice Dye Invitational (2010-current), The Legends Tour Championship (2013-16), Senior PGA Championship (2015) and the Senior LPGA Championship (2017-2021 ).
The 54-hole tournament will be played over three days, Friday-Sunday, with 18 holes slated for each day. The low four scores will count towards the team score in each round. Tee times for Friday and Saturday begin at 9 am ET/8 am CT. Sunday’s final round is scheduled to tee off beginning at 8 am ET/7 am CT, and will be immediately followed by the awards ceremony at the No. 18 green.
