Nikita Tszyu vs Ben Horn, how to watch, preview, stream, start time, Joker comparison

Have you seen the movie?joker‘?

You know, that 2019 flick where a failed clown descends into utter madness, while you squirm in your cinema seat and wonder why you thought this was going to be a superhero movie.

Joaquin Phoenix won an Oscar for breeding the distress you felt as you nervously chewed on your popcorn, and secretly checked your watch to see how much longer was left of this thing that was supposed to be enjoyable.

Remember it? Yeah, I can’t forget it either.

So, when Tim Tszyu compared his brother’s mind to the joker’s, this journalist couldn’t help but flashback to that two-hour torture show, and feel at least a little concerned for Ben Horn.

“Have you seen the movie ‘Joker’?” Tim asks.

“I feel like that’s his mind at times. It’s just, it’s just chaos. You know, it’s just fireworks. It’s chaos there,” he adds, in an exclusive chat with foxsports.com.au.

Gulp.

“I want to taste blood. I want to feel pain. I want to feel their suffering,” Nikita, almost nonchalantly, said before he’d thrown a single punch in professional boxing.

“That’s kind of how my brain works. I thrive in those kinds of moments, and those kinds of feelings.”

There’s fighter talk. And then there’s this. The kind that makes you laugh, a little uncomfortably, and think, or hope, ‘he must be joking right?’

“He’s always been like that. He likes to cause pain,” Tim says.

Nikita is scheduled for the third professional bout of his short career on Wednesday night, where he’ll take on Horn in a fight that’s been billed as the ‘Battle of the Brothers’.

Having finished his two previous opponents in a grand total of three rounds, Nikita is understandably a massive favorite heading into the contest.

Asked what would go through his mind on fight night, Nikita gave a glimpse into how things work in there.

“Every fight there are different emotions that go through your head,” Nikita tells foxsports.com.au.

“Sometimes there’s a bit more anger, sometimes there’s a bit more aggression, that you just want to hurt them. Even for no good reason. You just feel… that you just want to hurt this person really badly.

“But then there’s other moments when you’re looking at them and you just want to outsmart them; not necessarily beat them up, but just make them feel like they’ve been belittled, and take their confidence away.

“These are little things that you can only really find when you look into their eyes.”

Up until now, though, Horn has managed to somewhat escape the dark thoughts.

“He has a face that I really just want to punch,” Nikita says of Horn.

A great one-liner, and a welcome breath from the suffering and pain.

“Nothing against him or anything,” Nikita continues, “… but he has one of those faces that I really just want to get in there, make messy.”

Oh, there it is.

Now, before you go battening down the hatches, you should know Nikita, for the most part, is totally inoffensive.

He’s a largely reserved 24-year-old who has figured out that he punches harder than most, and can do this – for real – despite walking away from the sport for nearly a decade.

“He knows how to control it,” Tim explains, making it clear that Nikita isn’t a concern to society, like a certain terrifying clown.

“But when he gets into the ring, he’s a complete menace.”

Nikita is three years younger than his brother Tim, and about 20 fights behind. It means there’s work to do, and plenty still to learn.

Drawing on his brother, father, uncle, and grandfather, though, Nikita has a wealth of knowledge that very few boxers could ever hope for.

“It’s like having a visual book that’s always talking back to you, always giving you information,” Nikita says.

That book’s secrets will be on display Wednesday night in a fight Nikita enters as a $1.03 favorite.

And there’ll be blood, if he can help it.
