The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) has agreed to a revised title sponsorship deal with car marketplace cinch amid a row with Glasgow-based club Rangers, that claimed the league-wide advertising agreement caused a conflict of interest with the club’s own deal with competitor Parks of Hamilton.
Neil Doncaster, chief executive of the SPFL, said, “Under the terms of the revised cinch contract, Rangers are no longer required to participate by providing the sponsorship inventory that they have so far not provided, whilst, crucially, the overall income to Scottish football is expected to remain materially unchanged over the original five -year term of the sponsorship. This revised package has now been approved by cinch Premiership Clubs.”

The solution will begin with Eurosport brand partners on Eurosport.com and local platforms in France (Eurosport.fr), Germany (Eurosport.de), Italy (Eurosport.it), Romania (Eurosport.ro) and Spain (Eurosport.es) , and is already being live trialled in the UK (Eurosport.co.uk).
British Cycling has confirmed the broadcast details for next week’s British National Road Championships in Dumfries and Galloway, which will offer fans the opportunity to watch flag-to-flag live coverage of the circuit and road races on GCN+, Eurosport Player and YouTube, in addition to full highlights from the event on ITV4.
This year’s event will see the time-trial, circuit and road race championships brought together into one week of racing, from Thursday 23rd June to Sunday 26th June, with riders including Mark Cavendish, Anna Henderson, Ethan Hayter and Pfeiffer Georgi all competing for the coveted national champions’ jerseys.
Football entertainment group Toca has secured a significant investment from England captain Harry Kane as it seeks to continue its expansion. The Tottenham striker said he has committed to the business, which runs indoor training centers and social venues, because he believes “it can help the game grow”.
Toca, which has previously amassed 86.8 million through funding rounds, has recently expanded to become largest operator of indoor centers in the US after opening in Dallas, Cleveland, Nashville, Chicago and Denver.
The group has also focused UK growth through Toca Social, its football-oriented social venues. It recently opened at The O2 in London and is expanding further with new sites in Edinburgh and Birmingham.
Basketball Ireland and Irish free-to-air television broadcaster TG4 have agreed to a three-game deal for FIBA EuroBasket games in 2022, which will see both the men’s and women’s senior sides shown live on the station. The first game takes place on Thursday 30th June, when the Irish senior men take on Austria in Salzburg, followed three days later by their home contest against Switzerland, on Sunday 3rd July.
Basketball Ireland CEO, John Feehan, said, “This agreement reinforces TG4’s commitment to top class Irish international and domestic basketball. They already provide excellent coverage of our InsureMyHouse.ie National Cup and showcased our return to FIBA EuroBasket last year. This announcement for our 2022 internationals is another sign of the appetite for basketball in this country.”
