Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham remain very active in the summer transfer window with plenty of new signings targeted. The Blues are ready to gazump Manchester United with a bid for Frenkie de Jong while eyeing both Presnel Kimpembe, from Paris Saint-Germain, and Jules Kounde, from Sevilla. Gabriel Jesus brings Arsenal ‘winning mentality’, says Parlor

Gabriel Jesus will bring a winning mentality to Arsenal that the club lacked in their top-four fight with Tottenham last season, according to Ray Parlour.

Arsenal would “probably” have finished fourth in 2020-21 had Jesus been at the club, Parlor reckons, with the new team ethic and mentality something the former midfielder is very impressed by.

He told Sky Sports: “If you look at Spurs, Son [Heung-min] and [Harry] Kane vs Nketiah – nothing against Eddie, he’s still a young lad, he’s still learning – and Lacazette. You put your money on probably Spurs to get over the line.

“But Jesus, he’s a winner, he’s been in winning sides so he’s got to bring that mentality across to the team now.

Chelsea discover Pavard price

Chelsea could move towards a deal for Benjamin Pavard after learning of the defender’s fee.

Bayern Munich will demand £30m for the World Cup winner, according to transfer journalist Ekrem Konur.

Thomas Tuchel has reportedly eyed Pavard for a number of weeks as a back-up to Reece James, with a move for Jonathan Clauss likely to fade as Marseille move in on the Frenchman.

Agent Jorginho helped bring Koulibaly to Chelsea

Kalidou Koulibaly was asked to join Chelsea by old friend Jorginho weeks before he moved to the club.

The Senegal defender has revealed his former Napoli teammate’s attempt to persuade him to make the transfer, as he decided he would join the Premier League club.

“We speak together, me and Jorgi, one month ago Jorgi text me and asked me if I wanted to come to Chelsea,” Koulibaly told the club website.

“I said, ‘I don’t know if they [want] I. I want to come but don’t want to propose it myself. If they want me to come, I will come’. And after that my choice was made.”

Akanji offered to Arsenal

Arsenal have been offered a cut-price deal for Manuel Akanji.

The defender is available from Borussia Dortmund and La Gazzetta dello Sport detailing his agents’ attempts to find a new club.

That has included a potential £21m move to the Gunners after he fell out of favor at Dortmund.

Tuchel delivers Colwill update

Thomas Tuchel has been speaking on the futures of Levi Colwill, Armando Broja, BIlly Gilmour and more this evening.

“With Levi, it is too early to answer,” he told reporters.

“What I will say now is maybe I have to take back or give another opinion in a few weeks, I simply haven’t seen enough of him in our group.”

Thong set for Milan talks

Japhet Tanganga’s entourage are expected in Italy this week to discuss a move to AC Milan.

Tottenham are keen on thinning out their squad with a loan deal to the Serie A champions on their agenda, featuring a purchase clause.

If Milan can agree terms with Tanganga, they will push to seal the move with Spurs.


Zinchenko traveling for Arsenal medical

Oleksandr Zinchenko is en route to Orlando for his medical with Arsenal ahead of sealing a £32m transfer.

Gunners technical director Edu is also flying in after Zinchenko left Manchester City’s camp across the US in Houston.

A four-year contract has been provisionally agreed between Arsenal and the player.

Kimpembe rejects Chelsea

Presnel Kimpembe has said “thanks, but not thanks” for the offer of a move to Chelsea.

According to L’Equipe, the French defender wants to remain at Paris Saint-Germain despite talk of a £40m transfer.

A meeting between the player and his current club led to the decision, it is reported, with Thomas Tuchel attempting on adding to his defense after signing Jules Kounde.
